Specialization

Our CEO, Greg Nordholm, began as a naval architect and marine engineer, specializing in barges and heavy lifts. While crane moves are our focus, we excel in handling watercraft unsuited for slipway construction—launching tugboats, assembling ferry hulls, relocating the U505 submarine, and installing the Willis Avenue bridge.

Greg Nordholm

Founder, Owner & Chief Engineer

With more than 40 years of experience in heavy lift engineering, marine transportation, and international project delivery, Greg has led Nordholm Companies on projects across more than 45 countries. He holds a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the University of Michigan and is a licensed Professional Engineer. Greg has pioneered container crane transportation methods and led complex bridge, marine, ferry, and crane projects, always focused on innovation, safety, and engineering excellence.

Chris Weinmann

Senior vice president

Chris brings deep expertise in heavy civil construction, tunnel boring operations, oversized transportation, and heavy lifting. He has managed complex infrastructure projects involving hydraulic transport systems, TBM assembly, and high-risk field operations. Known for his safety leadership and ability to coordinate multidisciplinary construction teams, Chris ensures every project is executed with precision and operational excellence.

Luke LaBrake

Director of Fabrication

Luke leads Nordholm Companies’ fabrication and machining operations, overseeing equipment repair, shop workflows, and production management. With a focus on quality craftsmanship, problem-solving, and safety, he delivers reliable fabrication solutions that support complex heavy lift and engineered transportation projects.
