Since 1976, Nordholm Companies Inc has developed and manufactured equipment for demanding lifting, transport, and industrial applications. From our Everett, Washington facility, we fabricate steel structures, mechanical assemblies, and custom equipment for marine, infrastructure, and industrial projects. Our work includes booms, equipment supports, access platforms, transport equipment, beam work, hydraulic systems, and so much more.
We fabricate to customer drawings and provide engineering services for projects requiring design development. Our engineering, fabrication, and field experience helps connect the design with how equipment will be built, assembled, supported, moved, and used. This coordination brings operating loads, component interfaces, inspection needs, and delivery constraints into the planning process.

From Fabrication to Final Assembly
Nordholm combines shop fabrication with practical experience moving and assembling heavy equipment. We plan the work around material preparation, weld access, subassembly fit-up, dimensional checks, protective coatings, and loadout. Engineering support helps address design questions and equipment interfaces as the work progresses. Depending on the project scope, our involvement can continue through delivery coordination, offloading, positioning, and final assembly at the customer’s facility.
Fabrication & Machining
 Structural steel fabrication, welding, and machining for heavy equipment, marine components, and industrial structures. We build booms, structural frames, equipment supports, connection plates, platforms, and mechanical assemblies to project drawings and specifications. Work is organized around material preparation, fit-up, weld sequencing, and dimensional control. Coordination between the design and shop teams helps resolve fabrication details and maintain alignment between connected components.
Engineering & Design-Build Manufacturing
Nordholm’s engineering services support structural and mechanical design, equipment layouts, load distribution, center-of-gravity assessment, and component selection. We work with customers to define the application, operating conditions, space constraints, and connections to existing equipment. Engineering and fabrication planning are coordinated to address detailing, assembly access, handling, and installation needs. We can support projects from concept development or work alongside the customer’s engineering team within an established design.
Hydraulic Power & Control Systems
Custom hydraulic power units, controls, hose reels, and related equipment for lifting, positioning, steering, and transport applications. Nordholm’s engineering support connects the required load and motion with system pressure, flow, power, and component selection. Equipment layout and hose routing are considered alongside access for operation and maintenance. Assembly and functional checks are coordinated with the operating requirements of the equipment being supplied.
Surface Preparation & Protective Coatings
Your completed project will receive the treatment it deserves with Nordholm’s abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and protective coatings for fabricated steel and equipment. Coating systems follow the project specification and service environment, with the work sequenced around fabrication, inspection, and assembly. Planning accounts for coating access, surfaces that must remain uncoated, component fit-up, and handling after application. This coordination helps protect completed steelwork while maintaining the interfaces needed for final assembly.
Assembly, Inspection & Quality Control
Subassembly fit-up, dimensional inspection, and mechanical or hydraulic function checks are incorporated as required by the project. We review critical dimensions, alignment, connection locations, and component interfaces before the work moves to its next stage. Verification can include 3D scanning to compare fabricated geometry with the design. Measurements and identified differences can then support engineering review and any required adjustments before final assembly or shipment.

MARINE ENVIRONMENTS
NORDHOLM BUILDS EQUIPMENT FOR THE MOST DEMANDING SEA CONDITIONS. Components survive relentless saltwater exposure and repeated wet-dry cycles without failure. Steel structures and equipment for exposure to moisture, saltwater, and marine operating conditions. Materials, fabrication details, and coatings follow project requirements. Planning also addresses equipment connections, inspection and maintenance access, and handling requirements for delivery and site assembly.

Nordholm provides surface preparation and protective coating systems for equipment exposed to high temperatures, cold weather, and other demanding service conditions. Coating application and inspection are coordinated with assembly and handling plans to protect completed work through shipment and installation. The project’s coating scope addresses exposed steel, connection areas, and any required final touch-up.
